  • On the eighth day of Navratri, the goddess Mahagauri is worshipped. Mahagauri is the eighth form of the goddess Durga. She is often depicted as having a fair complexion and dressed in white, symbolizing purity and tranquility.

The name "Mahagauri" can be broken down into "Maha," which means "great," and "Gauri," which is another name for Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. Mahagauri is believed to bestow peace, serenity, and wisdom upon her devotees.
