On the third day of Navratri, the goddess Chandraghanta is worshipped. Chandraghanta is the third form of the goddess Durga, and her name is derived from two words: "Chandra," which means "moon," and "Ghanta," which means "bell." She is often depicted with a moon-shaped ornament on her forehead, which is why she is called Chandraghanta.
Chandraghanta is considered a symbol of bravery and fortitude. She is believed to ward off evil forces and bestow peace and serenity upon her devotees. The half-moon on her forehead is said to resemble a bell, which is symbolic of the sound of a bell ringing in a temple, signifying the worship of the goddess.
