Ganjifa Cards Art
Ganjifa cards, also spelled as "Ganjifah" or "Ganjifeh," are a traditional style of playing cards that have been used for centuries in various parts of India, especially in regions like Rajasthan, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. Ganjifa cards have a unique and culturally rich history.
Each card is intricately hand-painted with a wide range of designs, often depicting themes from Hindu mythology, historical events, or traditional symbols. These cards are known for their beautiful artwork and vibrant colors.
Bhaskar Mohapatra is the third generation artist situated in the hub of Pattachitra art called Raghurajpur. He has been a practitioner of the art for over four decades and is among the few artists who still practice Ganjifa art in full form.
