Madhubani Painting : An Ancient Indian Visual Art

The Madhubani Painting Course is an ongoing program that begins with fundamental strokes, patterns, and basic motifs in the traditional Madhubani style. It then advances to complex geometry-based architecture and human anatomy, all under the supervision of leading experts and teaching artists.

Delve into the ancient Indian folk art of Madhubani, believed to have originated during the Ramayana. Learn from world-renowned experts, starting with basic shapes and motifs, and progressing to detailed iconography and geometry-based proportions, gaining practical skills and techniques along the way.

The Roadmap to Success

  • Our learning starts with the fundamentals! We begin by mastering basic shapes and strokes with pencil on paper over 2-3 classes. This solid foundation paves the way for a hands-on project that incorporates these skills. Once the project is complete, we gradually increase the challenge with slightly more advanced shapes, leading to more intricate projects in the following sessions. This continuous progression equips students with the skills necessary to tackle complex compositions based on conceptual themes.

  • Our classes are designed to be 60 minutes long, but to ensure we deliver the highest quality and most creative learning experience, we sometimes extend them by 10-15 minutes. This additional time is provided to you completely free of charge. Please be mindful of this when scheduling activities after class, or let us know in advance if your student needs to leave at a specific time.

  • Our program offers flexibility! We provide both options—online classes and in-person sessions

In the first few classes, we'll assess your child's artistic strengths and recommend the perfect art materials to help them flourish. These additional supplies can then be purchased by parents.

  • We follow the Northshore School District calendar for holidays, and incorporate important Indian festivals into our schedule. This ensures a balanced program that respects both local traditions and cultural celebrations.

    • Please note that taking a term break may result in losing your spot in the class

    • We appreciate early communication if your child needs to miss a class. Please refer to our makeup class policy below for more details on how to handle absences.

  • We understand that life happens, and sometimes you might miss a class. However, to ensure individual attention for all students, makeup classes are not guaranteed. Here's what you need to know:

    • Communicate absences at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows are NOT eligible for makeup classes.

    • Makeup classes are only offered if:

      • There are no additional classes within the term beyond the minimum number of classes scheduled.

      • Space is available in another batch.

    • Once scheduled, makeup classes cannot be rescheduled.

    • Makeup classes must be completed within the same term and cannot be carried forward.

    • A maximum of 3 makeup classes per term is allowed.

    • There are no refunds or credits for missed classes.

    • Term fees are not pro-rated for absences.

By following these guidelines, we can ensure a fair and manageable makeup class policy for all students.

    • Behavior: We maintain a positive learning environment where all students feel respected. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any participant who exhibits disruptive or disciplinary behavior.

    • Parental Contact: For your child's safety, parents (or a designated responsible adult) must be reachable by phone throughout the class duration.
