Join our Kindness Crew to create Birthday Cards for seniors

The project is being coordinated by Nikita Thakalath, a certified Madhubani artist and a teaching artist at Deepti Designs INC. She has been passionately working towards creating happy and peppy greeting cards in the flavor of heritage art, for over two years and has successfully delivered over 500 cards. Her art on the cards is very loved and appreciated by the seniors. Please reach out to her at nsobby@yahoo.com if you are interested to lend a hand.

Instructions -

• The blank cards should come with their envelopes as they are to be mailed out. You are free to pick the ones you like. Based on our experience, we recommend these.

• Explore your creativity in adding happy colors and bright themes. It would be a bonus if the designs could have some elements of a heritage art form, from your own native country/ethnicity.

• It could be as simple a drawing as a border, a small motif or something elaborate and intricate

• The cards could be painted using acrylic paints, pencil colors or mixed media. Please avoid charcoal, crayons and pastels as they tend to smudge.

• A happy Birthday message on the inside of the card would be great. Please DONOT sign the card. Your name (artist’s name) could go at the bottom on the backside of the card. The envelopes are to be left blank.
